(Not) Baking with Babies

You may have noticed I haven't posted since ... October, apparently? Like a crazy person, I picked up a full-time temp job just in time for my third trimester, and progressively lost stamina as I neared my due date.
I scarcely had the energy to feed myself, let alone bake something intricate and write about it. I did manage to decorate Christmas cookies with my parents, just days before I went into labor. Post-baby, I got wild with some Betty Crocker mix salted caramel brownies, which I then proceeded to eat by myself during the course of a week. They weren't bad.

Sweet Oliver joined us in late December, and the ensuing weeks have been a blurry whirlwind of love, amazement and exhaustion. These days, the closest I have gotten to baking is watching GBBO in a stupor while snuggled up with baby on the couch. My husband and I are huge fans of Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer (*catcalls James McAvoy*).
At only a few months old, baby isn't a ton of help in the kitchen, but I do have dreams of teaching him to bake, the same way I learned from my mother. Maybe we can bake our way through every bake-off cookbook every published, though at this point improved hygiene on my part is a more worthy and realistic goal.
